“Taking time to focus is rare in our contemporary world” (Visual Thinking Strategies, Philip Yenawine).
When visiting an exhibition, we often take mere seconds for observation of an art piece when there is so much to explore if taken the time. It is fascinating to dive deeper.
I create art as emotional expression and connection to the world around me. We built our reactions on our very personal viewpoints-in this context, I love for my viewers to react, to explore my art and to feel it in the physical and metaphysical sense.
Most of my work is in encaustic, some in mixed media. Encaustic is layering and fusing of molten wax and pigment, so it lends itself beautifully to creating transparent layering, hence it may be worthwhile to take time and to look longer and deeper.
