A recent article I read touched upon the definition of art.

So I comb through the internet and encyclopedias to find some of the following:

Art is essential to society. It serves as a platform of expression and creates humanity and culture.

Oscar Wilde: art is a mode of individualism.

Andre Gide: art is the point where resistance is overcome.

Federico Fellini: art is autobiography.

Leo Tolstoi: art is greater than the individual.

Art as well as the definition differ greatly; all are valid and all serve further inspiration and contemplation.

Art comes in many forms.

I consider my art calm, energetic, abstract, expressive, a safe space to balance my soul and share my emotions, in reaction to my surroundings.
