My life has unfolded across cultures, mediums, and places. I am continually inspired by change, discovery, and the possibilities that emerge.
During my childhood in Germany, I told stories through watercolor paintings and constructed plaster reliefs. Later, while living in Malaysia, I expanded my practice through acrylic, oil and ink under the guidance of a Chinese artist. In the US, I discovered the medium of encaustic, the process of using heated wax with pigment. I was immediately drawn to its ability to transform my art through layering and fusion.
Today, I often build my surfaces through the accumulation of many layers, allowing traces of marks and experiences to remain visible. For me, this process becomes a metaphor for life itself: each experience leaves an impression, adds depth, and becomes part of what follows.
My work is an ongoing exploration of time, transformation, memory, and the possibility—an embrace of the layers that shape who we become.
